Two at a Time Two-up Socks

Knitting socks is fun and addictive.  Knitting a pair of socks two at a time helps avoids the dreaded “second sock syndrome”.  Knitting a pair of socks using the toe-up construction method allows you to try on the socks early in the project to make sure the fit is just what you want; avoids picking up stitches so the likelihood of holes at the junction of the heel and the instep is eliminated; and you keep knitting until you run out of yarn so there is none of those pesky leftovers.

Skills taught in this class include: dividing yarn in order to knit from two separate balls; matching patterned sock yarn to result in matching socks; knitting in the round on a long circular needle (magic loop); wrap and turn short row heel flap and gusset construction; pattern reading; Judy’s Magic Cast On; and Sewn Stretchy Bind-off.

Please be sure you have knit a sock either top-down or toe-up before registering for this class.

Materials required: 100 grams (about 400 yards) of tightly twisted fingering (sock weight) yarn;  1 32-40" long circular needle US size #1 (2.50mm.)  A metal needle with a smooth join and sharp tips is recommended; routine knitting supplies such as locking stitch markers, tape measure, blunt-tipped tapestry needle, and scissors or yarn snips.

Pre-registration required or use Contact Us from link below. See Terms and Conditions before registering.
